While driving home on Saturday after sledding with my kids in the hills, we took a longer more winding route. There was the most incredible sunset and we were able to enjoy it the whole way home. It got me thinking about our approach to fatherhood.

How often are we looking for shortcuts and highways and travelling at such speeds that we miss or at least detract from the wonder and beauty around us in every moment, especially when it comes to our children?

I want to take the scenic route, be present, be aware, slow down and appreciate.
