How do you respond when you need to make a big decision, take a risk or feel the need to stand up for what is right in the face of adversity or threatens to upset the status quo?

Do you find it easy to act in line with your values and character, even if it will make you unpopular or place you in personal danger?

Throughout history, there have been men and women who have stood out from the rest for their consistent courage when facing challenges, ridicule, or even death. Most of these appear to have made a habit of this so that when it came time for them to make the big decisions or risk their livelihood, safety, or lives, it wasn't a question of IF they would do the difficult thing. They knew they would. And so did those around them.

As fathers and husbands, we want to be that type of man. Someone people can rely on to do what is right, even if it means hardship and struggle consequences for ourselves, or involves taking risks to follow our purpose..

Developing that kind of courage and character starts with our everyday responses to things that happen to us. It starts with embracing hardship and even intentionally making things uncomfortable for ourselves..

Today Tom discusses 7 ways we can develop the habit of being courageous. Courage might look different for each of us. 

This list is a starting point for each of us to delve into what courage means for us individually, which areas of our lives require more bravery, and put a plan into action to make courage a habit.
