We've made it. We are into May 1996. The month that everything in WCW changes forever. That's right we of course mean the month that Hacksaw Jim Duggan gets a title shot!
In this episode we see what is going on between HBK and The British Bulldog's wife. Over on Nitro Giant takes on Ric Flair for the WCW Heavyweight Title.
In this episode we look at the RAW and Nitro from 22nd April 1996. Nitro covers the "lethal lottery" which is of course totally random and in no way a work where every rivalry team up in a tag team. On RAW people on the show earlier filmed the same night pretend to be live from Germany
NItro is back! After being preempted last week and us doing a special the one before we are finally back reviewing a Nitro. We see a ridiculous stipulation match involving Hogan and a main event with a nonsense finish. Shocking I know :-). Over on RAW we see Steve Austin still using the million dollar dream. Wonder if he will ever get a more iconic finisher!
This is the big one. Today we have 2 guest hosts with us in our friends Sean and Sam Yeganeh. Nitro is pre empted today so we only have RAW to review but it takes a while as we explore more context and also have some bonus questions from our co hosts.
This bonus episode was requested by listener Nick Opalewski and is reviewing the final PPV in WCW before the start of Monday Nitro. In it we see a Lifeguard match between Flair and the Macho man and Hulk Hogan takes on Vader.
In this episode we look at the April fools day Nitro and RAW from 1996 and see the debut of Marc Mero on WWF as the first ever WWF guaranteed contract (though unfortuntely not his Johnny B Bad Character).
In this episode we review the go home RAW before Wrestlemania 12 and the Nitro opposing it that night which saw the Giant vs Ric Flair for the title
