God's Presence with David
03-16-25
---
The presence of God is not something we create through our own efforts. Instead, it is a divine gift, freely bestowed upon us, regardless of our actions. God is always present; we need to be awakened to His presence.
God is:
Omnipresent – God is everywhere at the same time.
Transcendent – God is Indescribable and Uncontainable.
Immanent – God has chosen to be with us.
Matthew 18:19-202 Samuel 7:1-9
David’s Desire (Verses 1-3)2 Samuel 6:2 & 16-17
God’s Presence with David (Verses 4-9)
God is with us when we gather (Verses 4-7)
God is with us wherever we go (Verses 8-9)
Psalm 23:4
How can we experience the presence of God today, and not just at church?
"The task of paying attention is demanding. It can be performed only as one gains some freedom from self-importance and self-concern." – Diogenes Allen
"We may ignore, but we can nowhere evade, the presence of God. The world is crowded with Him. He walks everywhere incognito. And the incognito is not always hard to penetrate. The real labour is to attend. In fact, to come awake. Still more, to remain awake." – C.S. Lewis
