It has long been said that money was the root of all evil. But is that all there is to it- Is money really that bad in its self, or is there more to this statement- To get some clear answers we will have to turn to the pages of scripture and examine the facts around this thing we call money. Next thing is I do hope you have brought your ears with you this morning that you are ready to hear what scripture has to say about this thing which we find ourselves so attached to. See if you do not have a desire to hear what the word of God has to say on this matter, will then you will justify yourself and your actions along with your attitude and your words, satisfying your own selfish fleshly mind. That does not just apply to this message either, but each one that you don't agree whole heartedly with that is from the word of God. Are you ready for this this morning, or are you just comfortable in your nest egg- The first verse we will look at will be much more telling after we look at few verses before them however I want you to take note of 1 timothy 6-8-10 first.--1 Timothy 6-8-10--8 And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 9 But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. 10 For the love of money is the root of all evil- which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
