Help to Buy: A government-backed initiative designed to help people get on the property ladder or buy a new home without a large deposit.

Mortgage: An agreement that allows you to borrow money from a bank or similar organisation, especially in order to buy a house.

Interest: Money that is charged by a bank or other financial organisation for borrowing money or money that you earn from keeping your money in an account in a bank or from investments.

Credit Score: A number based on information which financial organisations consider in making decisions about lending money.

ETF: Exchange-Traded Fund, a fund that follows the level of share prices on a stock market, and that is also traded on a market.
