Money talks
and Bullshit walks
and small change
takes the bus
it is the paper
God that rules
the lives of
all of us
it is not something
meant to flash
when many do their
heads get bashed
when those left broke
do something rash
to take your wallet’s
wad of cash
It buys the guns
that loosen tongues
to shout the combinations
of safes locked tight
one dares not fight
such criminal organizations
it is a tool to torments
all those\of lesser means
with taxes from
the governments
a huge money machine
who give some back
with refunds that just
leave you mean and lean
It feed your kids
and hides their ribs
until your left flat broke
leaving them unfed
till your heart is led
to desperate acts provoked
cause all around you
rich folks suck
prime meat right
off the bone
even though they know
babies grow thin
and die in ghetto homes
when jobs are non-existent
even though you’ve
been persistent
money from your life
is distanced
honest living’s insufficient.
If money’s the root
of all evil it’s the sin
we like most to commit
and evil’s the root of
all money cause you
just can’t live without it
Money cripples all of those
who can’t afford it’s crutch
so many hobble to their graves
while others watch untouched
What if there was no money?
only sustenance for all
would society finally be free
of its most addictive call
would the world find peace
would cruel wars cease
and would its absence guarantee
that we could live
like we should be
sharing the wealth with all kindly
or sadly would it just create
new ways that folks
could learn to hate
the portions granted
to their plates
some wanting more
who’d desecrate
the joy of a non-moneyed state
Is money really our obsessions
or would we learn tragic lesson
that mankind’s driven by possessions
and once again
we’d face oppression
by those who always
take exceptions
to having more then
just their blessing.
I guess we’ll never know
until we all let go
Let Money walk
let charity talk
let small change
become huge
with hope for all
We might just make
the world a safe refuge.
It’s a thought we can’t refuse
