Monica Forte’s youngest son, Tony, was diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s disease only six days after his birth. The disease, which causes problems in the colon and digestive system, led the Forte family through multiple surgeries, living at hospitals, and eventually losing Tony at the age of 12.
