With a 92% bold factor, Monique Kelley has always embraced new opportunities and not been afraid to go off-script. One of her earliest moments of being bold happened while she was a track athlete. As in life, performing well in track requires setting the right pace, embracing that you can’t control every variable, and taking calculated risks. Monique discusses how she unintentionally built a portfolio career, working across corporate, agency, and academia, and how each of these opportunities built off of from one another. She emphasizes the importance of focusing on your purpose and moving towards what you want out of your career and your life, not delaying something you want to do. You don’t have to wait until you have more experience or until you feel completely ready to make a change. Monique Kelley is a purpose-driven strategic communications professional with a growth mindset. Her 20 years of experience spans across three sectors: corporate, agency and academia. Monique is the CEO and Founder of her consultancy, Monique Kelley Consulting, LLC (MKC). Through MKC, she infuses industry best practices and a customer-centric mindset gained through her roles as a pharmaceutical corporate communications senior leader and client experience leader (CXL) on the PR agency side. She is also a professor at Boston University's College of Communication and the Faculty Advisor for the University's award-winning Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) chapter. Monique is a recipient of PRNews' Top Women in PR Award and numerous PR industry awards for her work.
