We make monsters as a way to avoid dealing with our own sins - a process we call scapegoating. The original scapegoat ritual comes from the instructions in Leviticus for the Day of Atonement. What can we learn about how to spot scapegoating - and a better way to face our sins - from the original scapegoat?
