Known as the Düsseldorf Monster or the Düsseldorf Vampire, Peter Kürten was a serial killer who stalked the German city from 1929 to 1930. From an atrocious childhood to a bizarre obsession with blood, bestiality and insatiable sadism, he would go down in history as one of Europe’s most horrendous murderers.
