A young mother was found hidden under a duvet, with weights and push bikes stacked on top of her. She had suffered 199 separate injuries to her head and body, most inflicted by two screwdrivers found in the living room.
David Jackson, 68, entered the flat and casually told an officer he had killed someone upstairs. He remained silent throughout his interviews and denied murder until just before his trial. He was sentenced to life with a minimum of 17 years. The judge said he showed "very little remorse."
