News coverage has been a crucial element of every modern war. In this Monterey Conversation, two distinguished journalists - CNN’s Clarissa Ward and the New Yorker’s Joshua Yaffa - discussed the complexities of gathering accurate information, the role of social media in the prosecution and coverage of the war, and the balance between the war’s many local realities on the one hand and its global impact on the other.
