It’s fair to say Purdue President Mitch Daniels has gotten a mixed reaction to his proposal of buying online education purveyor Kaplan. Conservative education pundits have claimed it’s a new front in the struggle to educate a Hoosier workforce that doesn’t have enough college degrees. But faculty point out they weren’t consulted about the decision and it could dilute Purdue’s brand of rigorous post-secondary schooling.
