A fantastic read
Montmartre Stairs: A Paris Love Story is the story of John, an American businessman on assignment in Paris, and Michelle, a Frenchwoman he meets in Paris. When they meet by chance at the Abbesses Metro stairs, they feel an instantaneous attraction and love. Their relationship initially causes conflict amongst John's family and friends.
This book is a fantastic read; easily transporting the reader to the streets of Paris as we are drawn into the whirlwind love affair of John and Michelle. Warren does an excellent job of bringing the streets of Paris to life, as well as the compelling characters of John and Michelle, who jump off the page and feel complex and real. I was left satisfied and smiling by the novel's end. I highly recommend this enjoyable and engaging novel.

John is the son of rich and powerful parents and his life is line to continue this tradition. He's a banker and a lawyer. He's from the states but is living in London and checking out the Paris banking branches. He has a girlfriend he will marry one day. Life is settled and he's moving forward. Then he notices a disabled woman falling down the stairs at the train station and he catches her to stop her from being hurt. When he looks in her eyes, his old life is lost...

This is mainly a story about love but it's also about growing up and making your own decisions. The hardest part was telling his controlling girlfriend that they were through. Soon he has his little sister calling him and berating him. She visits next but it makes no difference.
John has finally found a woman that touches his soul. He loves her smile, her wit, her humor and her positive attitude. He learns what love is and he's willing to give up his old life to have it. He also finds himself changing. He's loosening up and laughing more.
