Despite their passion, all does not go smoothly for the lovers. John, an American, must return to his job in London. Michelle has a promising career in Paris theatre. Desperate to remain in Paris, John asks for a transfer. He is faced with the dilemma of either staying in Paris with Michelle and losing his job or returning to the security of London and his English girlfriend.
More trouble erupts when Johns parents in Connecticut find out about "that French woman" after John breaks up with his girlfriend in London. Determined to end Johns relationship with Michelle, his parents threaten to destroy his career and disown him. As John fights against these obstacles, his life becomes transformed. The camaraderie of Michelles quirky theatre friends opens up a new and exciting world to John, a way of life he unknowingly craved.

A fantastic read
Montmartre Stairs: A Paris Love Story is the story of John, an American businessman on assignment in Paris, and Michelle, a Frenchwoman he meets in Paris. When they meet by chance at the Abbesses Metro stairs, they feel an instantaneous attraction and love. Their relationship initially causes conflict amongst John's family and friends.
This book is a fantastic read; easily transporting the reader to the streets of Paris as we are drawn into the whirlwind love affair of John and Michelle. Warren does an excellent job of bringing the streets of Paris to life, as well as the compelling characters of John and Michelle, who jump off the page and feel complex and real. I was left satisfied and smiling by the novel's end. I highly recommend this enjoyable and engaging novel.

The author shared a copy of this book with me for a review (thank you). It has been published and you can grab a copy on Amazon.
This is mainly a story about love but it's also about growing up and making your own decisions. The hardest part was telling his controlling girlfriend that they were through. Soon he has his little sister calling him and berating him. She visits next but it makes no difference.
John has finally found a woman that touches his soul. He loves her smile, her wit, her humor and her positive attitude. He learns what love is and he's willing to give up his old life to have it. He also finds himself changing. He's loosening up and laughing more.
