Vi har historiskt varit relativt förskonade från dödliga svampinfektioner. Men nu varnar forskare för att svampar håller på att bli ett allt större globalt hälsohot. Varför?

Svampar finns överallt, i varje andetag du tar andas du in hundratals svampsporer. Lyckligtvis är de flesta ofarliga för oss, men de senaste decennierna har allt fler sjukdomsframkallande svamparter upptäckts. Och det är en trend som sannolikt kommer att fortsätta.

I och med den globala uppvärmningen lär sig svampar att överleva ett av människans viktigaste försvar: vår varma kroppstemperatur. Samtidigt blir svamparna resistenta mot de läkemedel som finns. 

Vilka farliga svampar finns där ute redan nu? Och hur oroliga bör vi vara för svamp-epidemier i framtiden?
