Mordecai is one of the prominent characters in the Book of Esther. He's Esther's uncle, and the author paints a picture of Mordecai's faithfulness to the LORD. One example is his refusal to bow to tyrannical edicts, even though it may cost him his life. God sees fit in his providence to work through the life of Mordecai and Esther to save his people.
