Many people have been taught Mary is very special with unique access to Jesus.  It is true in several places in the gospel, Jesus is called blessed among women.  And we all know why.  Mary found favor from God to carry the Holy Thing that would be the Son of God born unto man to be king from the line of David.  However, Jesus makes it very clear in Luke 11 that everyone who hears the words and teachings that He brings is more blessed than Mary.  If God found favor in Mary, how much more are those who hears and follows the commandments of Jesus?  We need to understand how much God loves us and favors us.  Many still lose the magnitude of the John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, He gave his only son."  God loves you and He favors you greatly.  Jesus wants to help understand how He loves you because He says you are more blessed than Mary.
