Your hope needs to be rooted in Jesus Christ. This is humility. Knowing that we NEED a savior. Admitting that we aren’t perfect. Releasing control. If like me, you feel like you are climbing a mountain and everyone seems to be loading your backpack with rocks and throwing sticks for you to trip on, remember that Christ has promised to ease our burdens and take away our stumbling blocks.

Living with depression is hard. It’s lonely.
Struggling with depression as a parent - whew! Multiply the shame, the guilt, and the urgency of normal parenthood by five, then imagine someone is asking you to carry around a 50-pound anvil on top of the crying baby in your arms.
I’m a mom like you, who has battled depression and has learned things the hard way. And if there’s any chance that I can give you a shortcut to tips and tricks that will help you survive this season, I’m going to try.
Kari Smith shares her story of living with depression and anxiety, including postpartum depression and disordered eating. Included is what she learned in therapy, words of encouragement for those suffering, and the signs to look for if you think your loved one might be struggling with mental illness.
