What if simply getting angry could put you in the same danger as murder? What if someone a fool could make you guilty before God? Sounds extreme, right? But in Matthew 5:17-26, Jesus raises the bar on righteousness—way higher than we’d expect.

Jesus said, "Unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” The Pharisees were the most devout rule-followers of their time—so what hope do we have?

Here’s the game-changer: Jesus didn’t come to abolish the law but to fulfil it. The righteousness we need isn’t something we achieve—it’s something we receive. Through His life, death, and resurrection, Jesus gives us His perfect righteousness. It’s not about religious performance; it’s about grace.
