Biography:

Senator T’wina Nobles represents the 28th Legislative District, which includes Lakewood, University Place, Fircrest, and Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Elected in 2021 as the first Black state senator in Washington in a decade, she brings 20 years of experience in education and community leadership to her roles as chair of the Higher Education & Workforce Development Committee and vice chair of the Early Learning & K-12 Education Committee. A former high school teacher and longtime University Place School Board member, Nobles is committed to equity, access, and opportunity for all. In the Senate, she has championed youth mental health, housing stability, environmental justice, and expanded access to reproductive and maternal health care. Nobles lives in Fircrest with her family and has proudly called the district home for nearly two decades.
