Ever since we planned to record this podcast, I was looking forward to this conversation with Courtney. I’ve known Courtney for years now but this is the first time that we got to have a conversation about mom things. As a mom to be this conversation meant a lot to me. Chrissy’s story is one I am excited to share. She is a friend of the podcast and has been following along for the past year. A few months ago, the Lord nudged her to share her story. Karlee, her husband, and kids trusted God as they moved across the country from Arizona to North Carolina for a pastor role at a church. Little did they know, within months of them being in a new home, Karlee would become extremely sick. A move that blessed her with the opportunity of being a stay at home mom turned into her being bedridden and her husband having to juggle his job (from home during Covid) to take care of Karlee and the kids. In a moment of desperation, Karlee found herself crying out to God for healing. She trusted in his power at work within her. Sometimes though, our healing comes in a way we never expected. This year Kelly’s family went through something completely unexpected and found themselves clinging to the Lord in the midst of uncertainty. When the Mengarelli’s lost their beloved Brooklyn, I felt myself grieving along with them and reaching out to offer support. It is inspiring to hear how Kelly and her family are navigating the uncharted waters of grief and firsts in such a crazy year already. Dallas and Jen have an amazing story where an uncertain diagnosis made them certain about who God is.
