Marriage, while certainly meant to picture God's faithfulness to humanity, it is also more than this. Simply being committed to ones spouse is not the full calling for marriage as a witness of God in the world. Added to this commitment comes the actual, appropriate manifestation of the love of God through the self-sacrifice, love, respect and joy which are shared between a man and a woman in the marriage relationship.
