With the Gills’ season potentially hanging in the balance, the team went north to fellow playoff hopefuls Morecambe and showed a truckload of spirit as they came from behind twice to eventually win 3-2.

Oli Hawkins, Tim Dieng and Connor Mahoney scored the goals – each one with an assist from Morecambe’s hapless goalkeeper Archie Mair, who had a ‘mare between the sticks for the hosts – as Stephen Clemence’s men finished the day level on points with seventh-placed Crawley Town.
