You were buried with Christ by baptism into death, so that just as He was raised, you too might walk in newness of life. The imperative rests on the indicative: you have died, and a new creation has come. Don't let the world squeeze you into its mold—be transformed by the renewing of your mind. You used to walk in futility; now put on the new self, created after God in true righteousness.
