Substituting electric vehicles for traditional ones could reduce local pollution and greenhouse emissions. The trouble is, they come with the perception that these societal benefits come at high costs to the owner of the EV in terms of price, driving range, availability, loading capacity, speed and acceleration. In addition, many believe that the usability of an EV is hampered by the lack of an infrastructure for recharging.

So, it would seem that a product like that is going to face an up-hill run in terms of marketing. I spoke to Australian EV Association spokesperson Chris Nash to gauge what they're doing to overcome the marketing problems and perceptions. I started by asking Chris about negative community perceptions around speed and driving range.
