But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, — Galatians 5:22

Goodness isn't something you manufacture by trying harder — it's fruit, and fruit grows from a living vine. The Spirit produces in you what you could never produce in yourself. The same God who is kind to the ungrateful pours His goodness into His people so it can flow through them to others. Paul ties this directly to Christ's example: walk in love as He loved us. You're not called to be good in your own strength; you're called to bear the fruit of the One who dwells in you.
