Therefore, since you have been raised with Christ, strive for the things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God. — Colossians 3:1

Paul doesn't command you to seek heavenly things to earn God's favor—he commands it because you've already been raised with Christ. The indicative comes first: you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. The wisdom from above is pure and peaceable, and it's found by fixing your eyes on Jesus. You seek what you already have in Him.
