Remain in Me, and I will remain in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in Me. — John 15:4
Jesus doesn’t say “try harder” or “do more.” He says stay connected. Paul said it this way: “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me” (Gal. 2:20). Apart from Him, you can do nothing. But in Him, you have everything. Abiding isn’t mystical passivity; it’s actively trusting the One who holds you.
