I am the LORD your God; walk in My statutes, keep My ordinances, and practice them. — Ezekiel 20:19
Notice the order: I am the Lord your God comes first. The imperative rests on the indicative—we obey because He is our God and we are His people. We do not keep the law to be saved; we keep it because we are saved. It is God who works in us both to will and to do of His good pleasure, so we walk in obedience by the power of the Spirit.
