Wash me clean of my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin. — Psalm 51:2

David's plea is the cry of every sinner who has seen themselves in the mirror of God's holiness. We need more than surface cleaning—we need to be washed thoroughly, inside and out. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us from all sin, and the Spirit sprinkles clean water on us. There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Emmanuel's veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood lose all their guilty stains.
