Fasten both stones on the shoulder pieces of the ephod as memorial stones for the sons of Israel. Aaron is to bear their names on his two shoulders as a memorial before the LORD. — Exodus 28:12

The high priest carried the names of Israel on his shoulders and over his heart as he entered the sanctuary—a picture of our great High Priest, Jesus Christ. He ever lives to make intercession for us, bearing our names before the Father. He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through Him. We do not approach a distant God; we come through a Priest who knows our names.
