At least 26 people are dead down south after a series of tornadoes over the last few days. The small town of Rolling Fork, Mississippi was pretty much leveled by one of the dozen twisters that tore through Mississippi and Alabama. Parts of Georgia are also under a state of emergency from severe thunderstorms., where a couple of Tigers got out of their zoo cages due to storm damage. The tigers have been recaptured.
Donald Trump's lawyer said Sunday the former President's verbal and social media attacks on Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg were quote "ill-advised." On NBC's Meet the Press, Joe Tacopina said he's referring to a recent Truth Social post where Trump appears to have shared an image of himself holding a baseball bat next to a separate image of Bragg’s head. That post has since been deleted. Tacopina also claimed Trump was following former lawyer Michael Cohen's advice when he signed off on payments to Stormy Daniels.
Idaho will now allow execution by firing squad. Governor Brad Little signed the legislation Friday after the state experienced difficulty in securing drugs needed to carry out lethal injections. Idaho is now the fifth state in the nation to allow death by firing squad. The law goes into effect July 1st.
The Notre Dame women's basketball season came to an end Saturday in an NCAA Sweet 16 round loss to Maryland, 76-to-59. The Irish finish the season with a 27-and-6 record.
The men's final four is set after Miami, Connecticut, Florida Atlantic, San Diego State all won regional finals over the weekend. National semifinals are Saturday night, the title game a week from tonight.
NBA: the Chicago Bulls beat the Lakers in LA, 118-108. The Indiana Pacers host Dallas tonight, and the Detroit Pistons are at home against Milwaukee.
Hockey: Vancouver beat the Blackhawks in Chicago, 4-to-2.
