The holy anointing oil of is a picture of the spirit's work. It couldn't be poured on just anyone—just as there's one body, one spirit, one calling. Christ was anointed above his companions, and he received the spirit without measure. From his fullness we receive grace upon grace. The same spirit who anointed Christ now dwells in believers, a seal, a deposit, an abiding teacher, producing fruit that shows whose we are.
