The Lord weighs the heart—men look at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart, and he sees the secret life no one else sees. David invited God to search him because he knew there was nothing to hide, and the good news is that the one who searches hearts also knows the mind of the spirit and grants mercy to those who fear him. Let your heart be fixed, not fickle, and he will not forget your work.
