We face the day of judgment without fear by;

1. Being Perfected In Love (vv.17-18)

Being perfected in love means;

a. We have confidence for the day of judgment, (v.17a)

17a By this is love perfected with us, so that we may have confidence for the day of judgment,

b. We look like the judge, (v.17b)

17b…because as he is so also are we in this world.

c. We do not have fear, (v.18a)

18a There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.

d. We are sure we will not be punished, (v.18b)

18b For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
