Be The Light To Others

Matthew 5:14-16 (NIV) ~ "You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. A Prayer for Strength and Refuge

Scripture of the day is from:

Psalm 61:1-8 (NIV)

1. Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer.
2. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.
4. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.
5. For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
6. Increase the days of the king’s life, his years for many generations.
7. May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever; appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.
8. Then I will ever sing in praise of your name and fulfil my vows day after day.

Today, as we begin a new week, we reflect on King David's comforting words. This is a powerful reminder of God's protection, refuge, and strength in times of trouble.

Psalm 61 is David's heartfelt prayer, expressing his deep need for God's protection and strength. Here, David calls out to God from a place of weariness and vulnerability, seeking refuge and safety in God's presence.

Let this Psalm remind us that God is always there to hear our cries, provide shelter, and give us the strength to persevere.

Restoration and Renewal

Scripture reading from:

Joel 2:25-27 (NIV)) ~ "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten—the great locust and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm—my great army that I sent among you. You will have plenty to eat, until you are full, and you will praise the name of the Lord your God, who has worked wonders for you; never again will my people be shamed. Then you will know that I am in Israel, that I am the Lord your God, and that there is no other; never again will my people be shamed.”

Here, we see that God’s children went through a terrible Locust plaque that destroyed their livelihood because they disobeyed God. Prophet Joel shares with us the promises of God to restore what has been lost or destroyed.

The imagery of the locusts represents devastation, pain, disappointments and loss, but God reassures His people that He will repay them for the years the locusts have eaten.

This passage highlights God's power to transform desolation into abundance, shame into praise, and despair into hope. It underscores His commitment to His people and His ability to bring about miraculous restoration.

Today, we will explore some of Jesus' teachings in the Sermon on the Mount. This scripture calls us to seek first God's kingdom and His righteousness in our lives. It reminds us of the priority of putting God first and trusting Him for our needs.

As you go through your day, I encourage you to seek God's kingdom first consciously. Start your day with prayer, asking God to align your heart with His will. Ask What You Desire

Abide In Me

Today, we will delve into Jesus' profound teachings from the Book of John about the importance of staying connected to God. This connection is the source of our life's blessings and living abundant lives.

John 15:4 (NKJV) ~ “Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."
