Acts 27 – As part of his appeal to Caesar, Paul’s journey to Rome takes him on a treacherous journey across the sea. Whilst the account from Luke’s pen is factual, it’s no basic travelog! It teaches us much about the Christian life.

In this talk Andy Nicholls tells us the importance of stories, our stories, and how they impact the people around us. He gives his own amazing testimony and draws us a picture through Paul’s defence of his own faith as written in Acts 26.

In Acts 25 the Apostle Paul continues to be used as a political and religious pawn in a game of chess played by the ruling authorities. Eirlys investigates how their worldly approach to leadership contrasts with God’s, and asks us to examine our place in God’s leadership team.

In Acts 24 we read of an encounter between Paul (the captive), Tertullus (the lawyer) and Governor Felix (the judge), each of whom had a different view of the same situation and knew how they wanted to apply it. It begs the question for us today, what do WE do with truth?

Acts 23 brings us to a moment where Paul, for the sake of the Gospel is embroiled in a dispute with the members of the Sanhedrin, caught between the doctrines of the Pharisees and the Sadducees. Yet it’s not Paul himself being called into question, it’s the matter of the resurrection of Jesus. What was the significance of the argument mean back then and what does it mean to us today?

Adam North from Christ Central Church in Portsmouth joined us at Mosaic to share in our Eldership commissioning service and preach on the gift that Elders are to the local church.

In Acts 21 and 22 we see that being on mission for Jesus doesn’t come with a promise of an easy life. Being a Christian can be hard and it comes with challenges. In this message Simo unpacks what it means for us today.

In Acts 20 we learn how Paul left his the elders of Ephesians and continued on his mission to spread the gospel. In doing so he demonstrated how to live in preparation for goodbye, in the secure knowledge that God’s plan for his church and people would persist.

In Acts 19 we see the power of the Holy Spirit at work launching and growing the church in Ephesus. We see a journey of true faith starting with a small group of people to a cultural landscape change through the spread of the Gospel.  But what does it look like for us to have True Faith today?

We live in an increasingly polarising world where enraging others seems to take over engaging others in healthy conversations. Acts 18 has much to contribute on how Christians might respond to this situation and speak the gospel into this cultural moment.
