The Sovereign God confronted the heads of old Jerusalem for being motivated by personal gain, showing that restoration would come through Jesus who is the only head motivated to give Himself for others. Which heads? Judges, prophets, rulers. 1. Bad judges gained from miscarriages of justice for personal advantage; meanwhile The Good Judge knows justice, loves good and hates evil. (v.1-4) 2. False prophets gained from warping their message to fit what people would pay to hear; meanwhile Micah was filled with power, the Spirit, justice and might to keep on declaring both sin and salvation. (v.5-8) 3. Bad city rulers gained from taking bribes for the ruin of their city; meanwhile The Sovereign Ruler makes Jerusalem a heap of ruins – then rebuilds it and brings purified exiles home.
