The fifth chapter in Paul’s second letter to the church in Corinth is a very encouraging passage of Scripture.  We are encouraged and motivated into service to God.  Service simply means that believers will express their worship of God by serving him.  We serve God by putting him first in our lives. We are motivated to serve God with inspired confidence.

We are also motivated by love.  We find in verse fourteen that we are compelled by the very love of Christ working within us through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. Christ’s love will be reflected in our self-sacrifice – sacrificial love for others. We are also motivated by a message: "God has committed to us the message of reconciliation. We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors. (2 Corinthians 5:19-20).
