Each of us is motivated by either pain or pleasure. We use them interchangeably but one of them often predominates.
For most of my life, I thought that it doesn't matter which one of those motivates me more as long as I am motivated and driven.
As I discovered later on, there is a difference in whether we are motivated by pain or pleasure. It shows in our emotional state, as well as a willingness to go beyond limits.
To understand what motivates you in life, ask yourself: "Am I being motivated by running away from something that causes pain or am I being motivated by running towards something that brings pleasure?"
In today's podcast episode, I am going to teach you how to use both effectively.
Tune in and learn:
- how understanding your pains leads to healing
- how to use the pain to your advantage
- the Maslow Hierarchy of Needs and its effect on your motivation
- why being motivated by pleasure should be your primary source of motivation
