Jealousy sucks and it shows up at the most disrespectful times! I know what it feels like to want something someone else has. To wonder when is it going to be my turn or why not me? 

I’ve often wondered what purpose jealousy serves and I’ve learned that it serves as a reminder of our own gifts, talents and God’s timing. Sometimes we allow the world, social media, friends, family and strangers to dictate what success means to us and the time we desire to achieve it. The truth is everyone has their own path and blessings attached to their name.  Iyanla Vanzant once said “Comparison is an act of violence against one’s self.”  It can be a thief of joy.  

Whenever you find yourself looking out and wondering why not me, look in and count your blessings. Start praising the Lord for what’s to come because yours is right around the bend.
