Derek Reyne, fresh off investigating the murder of Debrah Jane, is confronted with yet another too-clean killing, this time an independent drug dealer. Working with his new acquantaince Risk, Reyne attempts to put some pieces together, all the while wondering just what he expects to gain from pursuing this case.
