Dear God, create within me a pure heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation that is anchored within my soul as I remember how much you love and adore me. I give you permission to sift my motives, reveal to me when they are false, when I am acting one way and being another. Jesus, you said that I would see God when I have a pure heart: Blessed are the Pure in heart for they shall see God. I want to see you through the lens of pure motives now moving forward. I commit to pausing before I do what I do and inviting you into the reason why I am doing it. I want to do everything I do in your name for YOUR GLORY not mine. Help me to return to my identity in you quicker today than yesterday. Too often I spill out of myself and take the form of the object of my desire: a promotion, affirmation, recognition, approval ...all to be enough. Remind my mind that in you I lack nothing. I want my words, thoughts, deeds and actions to take the shape of your love in and through me for the sake of salvation of souls.
