In today's Gospel reading, we hear of Peter's exuberance at being on the mountain top with Jesus, Moses, and Elijah. Like Peter, amazement, and joy are often what we think about when it comes to the mountain top. Yet, the scriptures also tell us of the exhaustion and desperation of Moses and Elijah when on prior mountain tops. Just as God was with them, He is here with us.
