We begin with a shocking case of outright fraud. In Colorado, Jon and Carie Hallford, owners of the Return to Nature Funeral Home, have been at the center of a horrific scheme. In October 2023, investigators discovered approximately 190 decaying bodies at their facility, some dating back to 2019. Grieving families, expecting their loved ones to be cremated or buried, were instead given fake ashes—a concrete mix.
