Ice Princess, starring Michelle Trachtenberg, Hayden Panettiere and one of the more insane movie moms played by Joan Cusack, came out in 2005. And over the last 21 years, I’ve seen this movie more than nearly any other film. Mostly because Hannah had it on DVD as well as a poster of it in her room and was obsessed with it.
For those who don’t know, Hannah was/is a figure skater and competed in nationals, but more importantly against Margot Robbie’s stunt double in I, Tonya. So those are her bonafides. She knows skating, as well as how to eat popcorn in a movie theater.
We discuss the small-town mathlete to big-time athlete movie, along with a bunch of other random stuff. As is tradition on this here podcast. The Olympics may be over, but there are still some skating discussions to be had.
