It’s the 75th Anniversary of the first appearance of Batman, and we’re celebrating here at Movie Night Spotlight. We kick things off by watching the new DC animated feature “Son of Batman.” Dave C. and I discuss the flick and he also tells us a quick story about going to see a taping of “The Late Show with David Letterman.”

In this week’s, Jon and I discuss one of our favorite movies, “Dogma”. It’s a fun conversation as Jon knows his bible and I know a thing or two about the View Askewniverse. Really, it was only a matter of time before we got to talking about a Kevin Smith movie on this show, so we finally break the ice.

In this week’s episode, Dennis and I feel accomplished as we cross a movie marathon off of the board. We watch and talk about “The Matrix” trilogy and realize that it’s the 15th Anniversary of the first Matrix movie. It does take us a bit to start the discussion on Neo vs. Agent Smith though as we get distracted by debating if there are three or four Indiana Jones movies and Dennis informs us that Sean Connery is James Bond. Everyone else is playing Sean Connery being James Bond.

In this week’s episode, Jensen and I discuss Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” and what we are looking forward to in the Marvel cinematic universe. We also get Jensen’s opinion of “All Hail the King” and he explains how he hopes to see more of the Ten Rings organization in upcoming Marvel features.

In this week’s episode, Dennis and I discuss our favorite Baseball movies while watching the Boston Red Sox vs. the Baltimore Orioles. We attempt to name our personal top 3 films as well as read the Baseball Almanac’s Top 10. We go all over the place from Major League to Rookie of the Year, Angels in the Outfield to 42, Field of Dreams to The Sandlot, and we even go biblical and talk a little bit about Noah. It was a fun random conversation about baseball and some of our favorite memories of the game.

In this week’s episode, some technical difficulties recording cuts things short as Nicole, Brendan, and I discuss last summer’s Disney animated movie “Planes”. We got about 12 minutes in when things stopped recording, so I try to fill in some of the blanks in this shortened discussion on “Planes”. At least we got some fun “Back to the Future” and “Return to Oz” talk in there too.

In this week’s episode, Leavitt and I discuss the Marvel One-Shot “All Hail the King” before jumping into “Chronicle”. Leavitt also educates us a bit on Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave”, and naturally, we end up discussing other superhero/sci-fi flicks.

In this week’s episode, Emily and I discuss our favorite episodes of “Flight of the Conchords” before getting into talking about both the movie and book “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” and if she thought the movie does the book justice.

In this week’s episode, Dave C. and I talk all about superheroes as he gives us a second opinion on “Man of Steel” before we jump into the DC Animated movie universe to discuss “Justice League: War”.
