Joshua and his family are preparing to spend a month swapping house with a family that lives in a small town named Nilbog. Joshua is skeptical about the trip because the ghost of his deceased grandfather is warning him that the town of Nilbog is inhabited by goblins that turn people into vegetables and eat them. Once the family arrives at Nilbog, they're faced with strange occurrences with the small community. The family soon realize that the grandfather was right, and the town of goblins are set on trying to devour them.Troll 2 was released in 1990, and was met with overwhelmingly negative reviews, with some critics calling it the worst film ever made. Over the years, the film has gained a cult following, being called 'The Best Worst Movie Ever Made', and even has a documentary about the making of the film made by the star of the film, Michael Stephenson. But does the movie deserve to be crowned 'The Best of The Worst'? The three of them now have to fight against the elements unless they also succumb to whatever it is that is attacking people.The Happening was released in 2008, and was a critical and commercial failure, with most people calling the film a new low for M. Night Shaymalan's career. However, over the years, the movie has gained a cult following for its unintentional humor and goofy performances from the lead actors. But does the movie deserve the so bad, it's good title? Rod and Nathalie have to fight for their lives before they become bird feed.Birdemic: Shock and terror was released in theaters in 2010, and hit home video early 2011. The movie quickly became labeled one of the worst films ever made, with attention drawn to its terrible acting, atrocious dialogue, and awful special effects. But do all those elements give the movie some charm? This killer starts to write taunting letters to San Fransisco Chronicle, calling himself The Zodiac. Paul Avery and Robert Graysmith, who both work for the Chronicle, take an immediate interest in the case, and start investigating the murders. Meanwhile, Detective David Toschi is brought in to investigate the Zodiac murders. What follows is a decade-long obsessive hunt for this killer that takes control of the lives of those involved.Zodiac was released in 2007, and while the film wasn't a financial success, the movie received critical acclaim, with praise going to the tremendous ensemble cast and attention to detail in historical accuracy. The prank goes horribly wrong, and severely burns Cropsy after he catches on fire. Five years later, Cropsy goes to nearby Camp Stonewater to start his reign of terror against the teenagers and camp counselors. Everyone at Camp Stonewater now have to fight for survival as Cropsy gets his revenge.While The Burning has gained a significant cult following since its release in 1981, the movie has failed to live up to other slasher films at the time, being forgotten while Friday the 13th and Halloween continued to dominate with their franchises. Johnny rises from his grave and starts to make a murderous rampage to find his locket.In A Violent Nature came out in 2024, and was met with critical acclaim and a modest earning at the box office. A woman asks them if Tamara is home, but neither James or Kristen know a Tamara. The woman leaves, and James and Kristen are left feeling unnerved. Little do they know, this woman is part of a trio of killers that have now targeted the couple to be killed. James and Kristen must survive the night from these killers.The Strangers came out in 2008, and despite commercial success, critics did not take a liking to it. The movie went on to spawn a sequel in 2018, and a reboot trilogy in 2024. But does this original deserve more love over a decade later? Listen to Nikki and Cody's review to find out.

Welcome back to Movies at Midnight!This week, we're concluding Jordan Peele month with a movie that he produced, HIM, directed by Justin Tipping.Cam is an up and coming football star, on track to become the next big name in the game. All that changes when Cam suffers a serious head injury that puts his whole future at risk. Cam gets a call from football legend Isaiah White, who recruits Cam to become the new quarterback for the team The Saviors. As Cam begins his training with Isaiah, he quickly learns that he is in way over his head, and things start to take a sinister turn. HIM was released in theaters in 2025, and became a box office failure, as well as being hated by critics. Does the movie have more merit to it than what was given during its release? One night, O.J. and Emerald experience a strange occurrence happen at their farm, and the two of them start to believe an alien ship is the cause of it. Seeing the opportunity to gain fame and fortune, O.J. and Emerald decide to try and capture an image of the flying saucer. As they try to lure the saucer out to capture it on film, they realize that this alien craft may not be exactly what they think it is.Nope was released in theaters in 2022, and became a huge commercial and critical success. Many have said that it is Peele's best movie to date, and cited its similarities to early Steven Spielberg films, like Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Jaws.
