Moving Beyond Holistic: Finding Our Natural Rhythm | DIVO- Te

Listen Later

We often try to box our experiences into neat compartments, but true healing comes from understanding the natural, cyclical rhythms of life.

Quote from the Episode

"Grief, in my opinion, is a spiritual strengthening. It is a resistance training in and of itself."

Description

I’ve been thinking a lot about how we glorify Eastern ideals in the West while the East often looks toward Western lifestyles, creating a constant, cyclical exchange. We have a tendency to want to "biohack" or "spirituality hack" our way out of discomfort, compartmentalizing our healing into boxes with pretty bows rather than seeing the interconnectedness of our suffering and our growth.

Instead of striving to be "holistic" as a reaction to a broken system, I encourage us to look toward Sanatana Dharma—the eternal way—where balance is simply the natural state of the universe. When we align ourselves with these natural rhythms, we can view life's inherent resistance as a force that carries us forward more efficiently, rather than something that tears us down.

Show Notes

In This Episode, I explore:

The cyclical relationship between Eastern wisdom and Western methodology.

The concept of Sanatana Dharma as "the eternal way" of living.

Why the label "holistic" is often a byproduct of a treatment-oriented culture.

Reframing grief and suffering as spiritual resistance training.

Moving from being a passive recipient of life to an active participant in its flow.

Highlights

🌀 The Whirlpool Effect: Understanding existence as a series of expanding and contracting eddies.

☯️ Yin and Yang: Recognizing that every state contains a piece of its opposite.

💪 Spiritual Strength: How emotional "burn" eventually leads to adaptation and resilience.

🌊 Natural Rhythms: Moving with the wind of life rather than getting "wind burnt" by resisting it.

Reflection Prompt

In what areas of your life are you currently feeling "resistance," and how might that resistance be building a specific kind of strength?

Practice Prompt

Today, when you feel a moment of contraction—a difficult thought or a physical tension—simply pause and acknowledge it as part of a natural cycle, like a breath, without trying to "fix" or "hack" it immediately.
